What Customers Say About VMware Fusion 2 [OLD VERSION]:

My child is a home schooler and we needed to be able to run various educational software, some of which only run on Windows. We have been running this software on almost a daily bases for approximately 8 months and I am sold on this product. This was a very simple installation of VMware Fusion 2 with Windows XP, Service Pack 3. VMware Fusion running Window XP Service Pack 3, does a a great job running all software we have installed to date and with great speed. I plan to step up to the latest 64-bit version soon. I installed it into a shared area on my child's 13 Mac Pro so that all accounts have access to the Windows installation. As advertised, the installation was flawless and zero hassle with drivers or anything on the computer.
Use software to support sling projector and access IE enabled web sites. Allows me to use windows on my mac.
My kids love the ability to play windows games on the our Mac, and I love being able to test various OS network settings. No worries as the online documentation is top notch. Additionally, setting up multiple virtual machines is no problem. Extremely stable - easy to install and set up VMs. Well worth the investment. Installation was a breeze and installing Windows 7 was very straight forward. I'm currently running Windows 7 in a virtual machine. As Fusion 2 was shipped prior to Windows 7 release, instructions for installing were not included.
I got this on the gold box deal, so i also got the 3.0 upgrade and a $[.]., so for that price I can't complain. Remember to check the settings to get it work the way you want. The Unity tool is also very cool; so you can run Windows on top of snow leopard.
XP worked fine before Fusion. I installed it to use my XP Bootcamp partition without rebooting. I hope they fixed this in the new version. I had to reinstall XP, couldn't even repair it. After installing it recognized the XP partition but when I tried to log in to it, it crashed to a BSOD with a message about a missing ntldr. I tried rebooting into Bootcamp to no avail, same BSOD ntldr message, tried safe mode, command line, no good.
